So today let’s talk about everything money and getting the bag. Most nations are in the midst of diverse degrees of inflation and it’s a no-brainer that times like this only favor the rich folks out there. It is an opportunity to leverage the situation and also make money too! All you need to do is to find a niche you can thrive best, learn, do your research, be creative, identify your competitors and be unique.

Also, I know a lot may be running through your mind like, “how can a skill be high paying and yet require zero capital to make money from?”, “Isn’t this a scam?!”  No darling, this isn’t a scam zone and if you are reading this with the intent of getting really good scam ideas, then trust me, you’re in the very WRONG place.

The “zero capital” mentioned in the title is relative but I will try my best to let you know about a couple of places where you can learn these skills for free. At most, what you will need is access to the internet.

Here’s a quick disclaimer: I want to be totally honest with you. These things I’m going to be sharing will in no way get you on the Forbes list in 30 days. No dear, these are not “get-rich-quick-schemes”. But like the richest man on the planet said; “First you learn and then remove the L”.

This post today is all about introducing you to high-paying skills you can learn and venture into to make more money and live that “soft” life you always desire. More like opening up your mind to ideas that will help you level up financially no matter your current state in life, be you a 9-5 collar worker, a student, an entrepreneur, a stay-at-home mom, or a dad looking forward to more opportunities.

I feel like I have done enough of an introduction on this, so let’s delve in right away, shall we?

To make this more concise and give you the best reading experience, I have decided to group these high-paying skills into sections with subsections based on niches which will help you quickly identify what’s best for you.

We all know that tech is the new “oil money”, although this niche is not for everyone. I have several niches below that you can get as many money bags as you can from them too.

Tech has successfully maneuvered its way over the years to wrap almost every activity in the world around its enormous fingers. And with the advent of Web 3, we all should be ready for a fascinating roller coaster ride. If this is something that piques your interest, then you shouldn’t stand aloof whilst letting several tech opportunities pass you by. The following are high-paying tech skills in high demand that you should hop on:

• Web development: basically, web developers are into the creation and maintenance of websites. There are 3 kinds of web development specializations which are; front-end, back-end, and full-stack developers. You will need a really good grasp of HTML, CSS, and some programming languages to thrive here.

• UI/UX designs: Although some people tend to think that UI and UX are the same, this is not true, it’s just that both are in the same family. UI (also known as User Interface) specializes on design interfaces for websites and apps, creating appealing and aesthetic visuals that are easy for users to navigate. While UX (User Experience) on the other hand is all about carrying out research and testing, in other to understand how users interact with the company and the website.
• Artificial intelligence: The skills in demand in this field are; Python, natural language processing, R, Java, and tensor flow. As a newbie in tech or someone who has been in the game for a long, these skills are recommended to help you climb to the top of your game.

• Virtual reality and Augmented reality: These two are collectively known as extended reality (XR). This skill has been foresighted to be in high demand in five years to come. You definitely do not want to be left behind in this game-changer. It is needed in industries like advertising, education, entertainment, and health care.
• Blockchain: It was originally invented for Bitcoin (a digital currency), it has evolved and is no longer restricted to Bitcoin but is now used for crowdfunding, identity management, peer-to-peer payments, file storage, etc. The blockchain skills in demand include networking, cryptography computing, database design, and the integration of various programming languages.

You can learn these skills for free or if you have the resources and are determined to invest in yourself, you can opt for the paid courses. Either way, you can still harness the large volume of resources online.  You can learn for free on YouTube, skillshare, free code camp, etc. You can also get paid and certified courses on Coursera and udemy to mention a few.

Even if you are not an artist, you can learn this skill and level up financially as long as you got a great eye for everything aesthetics. Every brand needs a great graphics design to properly represent and also attract potential consumers to itself.  You can create Logos, fliers, mock-up designs, and many more.

You can learn graphic design for free on YouTube and Skillshare. You can also practice and design for free on Canva. Although the free Canva version which is beginner friendly is limited but still works fine, the pro will give you access to loads of templates and ideas. You can also go further by using CorelDraw, Adobe, etc.

3. VIDEO EDITING

Everyone is making and posting one video or the other. Most people are heavy on making videos for different purposes like for advertisement or for their YouTube channel or TikTok videos or for any other purpose. Oftentimes, they will need to have those videos properly edited. Hence, this is a lucrative skill in high demand. Learn how to edit videos for brands or individuals and leave them with no option but to cut that cheque out for you.

4. SOCIAL MEDIA

The social media space is another goldmine with several opportunities for you to harness. It is only the right set of skills that will get you the right pay you deserve.  You just can’t afford to sleep on this. I have gone out of my way to dig out lucrative opportunities for you no matter your personality type. I know some people will want to shy away from this because they do not want public attention. But what if I tell you I have your introverted side covered? You can still get to the bag through social media without people getting to know even a letter of your name. And for my extroverts who do not mind their faces being out there, I’ve got you also. These opportunities are:

• Micro influencing: Some big brands have noticed that paying celebrities to advertise their products does not yield so many sales any longer. And this is because most people tend to think that those celebrities only advertise those products just because they were paid to do so and not because the product is really as amazing as they portray it to be. Research was made and it was noticed that advertisements made by people who have a lesser number of social media followers than most celebrities tend to bring in more sales because their followers know them personally and they share mutual trust. Hence, some companies are out there looking for micro-influencer who will advertise their products and draw in sales.

If this is something you will love to do, then I advise you to do more research and identify those companies who are willing to pay you as their influencer.

• User-Generated Content (UGC): People are out there making money with this skill. Just like Micro Influencing, the little twist about UGC is the fact that it is based on user experience. Basically, you are expected to make use of a particular product and share your experience in a video format. This is more like giving a review about the product and also in a form of an advert. Get people interested in the product through your video. Brands and companies accept these videos to promote their product through your firsthand experience since they discovered that most people do not pay attention to their pop-up ads anymore.

You get your money by selling out this video to the brand whose product you did a UGC for. In simple terms, you are making money by using a product.

• Monetize your Instagram TV stories with Ads: I never knew one could make so much money on Instagram until I started this research. And of course, I won’t hide this knowledge from you because you and I need to get to the bag.

For this high-paying skill, all you need to do is to post advertisements for a brand on your IG TV that is more than two minutes long with audio that you have a copyright too. Easy-peasy!

• Start an Instagram theme page: This one is ideal for you if you do not want to put your face out there.

Firstly, you need to identify a niche and then post people’s videos around that niche or theme but do not forget to give them credit for the videos. Your page’s theme may be on travel, food, fashion, cars, money, etc. Just any topic you have an interest in and you know others will be interested in them too. It is quite a process depending on your social capital.

Basically, to monetize this page, you will need to grow the page and also make it attractive to brands and companies looking for advertising mediums. Once you get a brand interested in your page, you will promote the brand’s products on your page and monetize it through sponsorship.

• Content Creation: Do you have a special skill or talent or anything you really have passion for or love doing? Even though you may need some brushing up and professionalism you can learn how to incorporate that through various online learning platforms depending on your niche. Maybe you love to sing, make people laugh, and talk to people about any area of life you have deep knowledge in, dance, fashion, or any special ability you have and can showcase that you know people will be interested in.

Put yourself out there and showcase any skill you have or talent you possess. Although this may be a gradual process depending on your social capital. With time brands related to your niche will notice you and will pay you to advertise them through your content. This is called sponsored adverts.

• Blogging/Vlogging:  A blog may encompass an entire website or a section of the website. It is a platform where you share written and visual elements in an article form which is easy to read by people who visit the site to get enlightened on a particular topic. While is Vlog or video log is content in video format which also serves the purpose of enlightenment to a target audience.

This is a good niche if you are passionate about telling others about any topic you have an interest in, or if you are looking for a way to put your writing hobby out there. If this is you, then you need to get started right away. Although making money from this niche is only achievable in the long run, you will have to be consistent and ensure you post blogs or vlogs on topics that interest people to be able to draw traffic to your website or channel. • Social media handler/manager Be it manager or handler, the terms can be used interchangeably. A lot of businesses, websites, companies, or entrepreneurs are in need of someone who will manage their social media presence. This person needs to have an understanding of how various social media platforms work, the company’s or website’s or entrepreneur’s policies and working operations, the image they want to present to the public, and also be a bridge that connects people to the business. Basically, you will manage their social media handles and sometimes attend to the messages consumers intend to pass across to the business owners.

5. ONLINE MARKETING

• Drop shipping: All you need to learn here is how to set up an online store, the market system, and how to thrive in this space. Drop shipping most times does not require you to store the goods or inventory in your house. The goods when ordered by a consumer through your online store are sent from the manufacturer directly to the consumer. All you need to do is link the consumer with the manufacturer. You don’t have to worry about delivering the goods yourself.

You attract consumers for example, by setting up a Shopify store and linking it to your TikTok account or any social media platform that you are capable of drawing traffic with. • Print on demand: This is quite similar to drop shipping but there is a little tweak here. For print on demand, you are required to make beautiful designs on everyday products and make them available in an online store. This store will then go ahead to produce your product when a consumer makes an order for it and oversees the delivery of the product. The store takes its commission for production and delivery while you keep the remaining part of the pay. It is a win-win situation.

With regards to the designs, you do not necessarily need to be a pro artist. Simple yet beautiful designs sell well too. You can make use of Canva to create your designs or book bolt (this is better and faster for creating book covers). Make sure you have passion for what you are teaching, make sure it is not just something that works only for you, and make sure you teach in a simplified manner. • Home staging: This is partly online and offline. Are you good at staging homes or interior decoration? If yes, then this is for you.

All you need to do is to advertise yourself on social media platforms like Facebook groups that are about houses or advertise yourself on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and the likes or you can partner with a housing or estate agents who will refer you to those who just purchased an estate or a house from them. Regularly, post pictures of homes you have staged. And if you are a beginner in this without pictorial evidence, you may consider staging your personal house or your friend’s. When you do this, be sure to properly advertise yourself to your prospective clients.

6. WRITING

• Content writing: Are you good with words and do you love to write? You can learn this skill and in turn monetize it. You may not necessarily have a personal website or a blog. You can either get a writing contract from a business or brand or you can be a freelance writer. Advertise yourself and your writing expertise on various social media platforms and get writing gigs. You can scout for gigs as a freelance content writer on Upwork, Fiverr, Truelancer, LinkedIn, etc. Learn how to write with respect to your target audience. Be it technical writing or creative writing, choose a path that you can work best in. learn about Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Identify your passion and concentrate on writing in that niche. For example, you can write on travel, education, money, cryptocurrency, and NFT to mention a few.

• Copywriting: In simple terms, copywriting is being a salesman with prints (written words). You really do not need a degree in marketing to do this, all you need is the right knowledge of this skill. Learn how to market a product in a way that will leave your prospective consumer with no choice but to purchase what you’re marketing. It doesn’t need to be your own product. You can get hired by brands, companies, or businesses to market their products. This is a high-paying skill if you become really good at it.

• Email marketing/newsletters: who said emails are archaic? Mails are still very much relevant and businesses are still reaching out to their prospective clients or consumers through it. It is a fast and reliable method to pass the latest information across to your target audience. Companies or websites and the likes are out there searching for professional hands to manage their emails and also be in charge of reaching out to their consumers through newsletters. Just like a social media manager, you need to know how best to represent the company through your emails and also pique the interest of the consumers to purchase their products.
