What You Must Know About The Nigeria Police Academy (Polac)
The Nigerian Police Academy, commonly called Polac is similar to the Nigerian Defense Academy in that students, known as cadets, get both educational and military training. Academic and police training are both parts of the Police Academy. Cadets serve at least five years in the Nigerian Police before graduating with the rank of ASP.
Nigerian Police Academy was established in the year 2003 by the Nigerian Federal Government. Its origin can be traced back to 1981 when the Nigerian Government requested the British Government to make available to Nigeria, some united Kingdom Police officers to assess the training needs of the Nigeria Police.
The Nigeria Police Academy Admits both male and female cadets. The first Regular Intake Started in the year 2015.

Requirements For Admission Into Nigeria Police Academy
Below are the requirements for admission into the Nigeria Police Academy:
- Candidates seeking admission into the Nigeria Police Academy must be citizens of Nigeria
- All interested candidates must be between 17 and 22 years of age
- Applicants must have a height not less than 1.67 Metres (5 Feet 6 Inches) for males, and 1.62 Metres (5 Feet 4 Inches) for Females.
- All interested applicants must be medically and physically fit.
- Candidates must obtain a minimum of six (6) credits in the SSCE results (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and GCE) in not more than 2 sittings.
- Candidates must score at least 180 in their UTME or JAMB examination.

Selection Modality In Nigeria Police Academy (Polac)
Admission into the Nigeria Police Academy is strictly by merit. Yes, we are aware of the place of connection, but unlike the Nigeria Defence Academy, Polac places more priority on merit. The Nigeria Police Academy adores academic/sound education standards.
For admission consideration into the Nigeria Police Academy, applicants are to have at least 180 in their JAMB scores to be considered for selection. Priority is also given to applicants who score high in the POLAC selection examination.
More so, your performance at the Nigeria Police Academy Selection Board Screening matters a lot. As such, candidates must endeavor to perform excellently at every level, from the UTME to the selection board screening.
Successful candidates at the Nigeria Police Academy selection examination are shortlisted for selection board screening, and subsequently, those who are successful at the screening will be granted admission.
Admission is done on the JAMB portal.

Nigeria Police Academy shortlists over 50 candidates per state in their final list.
Selection Examination Date and Requirement
The selection examination for the Nigeria Police Academy 9th Regular Course is slated to hold on Saturday, 20th August 2022.
The examination shall be Pencil and Paper-Based (PPB) and Computer Based Test (CBT) as the case may be.

Subjects To Be Written at The Selection Examination
The examination comprises two sections. Section A and Section B
Section A
Section A is a General Paper section for all candidates which consists of, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, English Language, and Mathematics.
Section B
This section depends on the faculty chosen by the candidates. Most times, you write the same subjects you wrote in your UTME for the section

Make a payment of 3,500 Naira through any commercial bank.
