The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), overseen by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, is inviting interested Nigerians to apply for its much-anticipated software development training program.
About the NITDA One Million Developers Training Registration
The project, which would be carried out through NITDA’s subsidiary, the National Center for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR) in Wuye District, Abuja, is in collaboration with relevant stakeholders in the ecosystem and aims to make Nigeria the hub of digital talents in Africa and the world at large.
The program aligns with the Federal Government’s National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (NDEPS) and NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2021-2024) Emerging Technologies pillar.
According to Mrs. Hadiza Umar, Head of Corporate Affairs and External Relationship, NITDA, the trainees will go through a series of coaching and lectures to develop programming skills in Python for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Robotics, and Data Science.
She revealed that the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, has directed NCAIR to run the program within the Centre on a 24/7 basis, including an internship program that will provide intensive training to Nigerian youths with the goal of producing software developers.
“NDG Training is split into two batches.” Batch A will run from Monday to Wednesday, Batch B from Thursday to Saturday, and Sunday will be an independent study day, with certificates issued to students/trainees at the end of the program.
