About UPG Sustainability Leadership Program
UPG Sustainability Leadership is a movement that mobilizes individuals and organizations to support positive citizen sustainability leadership.
It is a movement that empowers and encourages citizens of all levels to take positive action. A movement inspired by the UPG’s commitment to do the best we can with the resources we have rather than waiting for someone else to act. It is a movement that represents the idea that everyone can contribute to making the world more sustainable.
UPG believes that sustainability includes BOTH traditional “green” issues like planting trees, recycling waste, managing energy, and protecting the oceans, as well as issues that have long been central to our societies like education, health, jobs, gender equality, sustainable consumption, and sustainable production.
For those who are unfamiliar, UPG is based on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Full Benefits of UPG Sustainability leadership Program
- Participation in UPG Sustainability Leadership is FREE for selected participants. All 500 participants will receive online training free of charge and all will be certified as UPG Sustainability Leaders after completion of the course.
- Participants selected for the 1-week immersive excursion will have the costs of the program covered – training material, accommodation, subsistence, local transportation, and international flights (a round trip flight from the participant’s hometown to the US).
Requirements for UPG Sustainability leadership Program
- Open to young leaders between 18 and 35 years by October 1, 2023. This ensures that all participants are within this age group for the duration of the training and experiences that are planned.
- You demonstrate a strong motivation to become UPG Sustainability Leader combined with strong capabilities, and you also have initial ideas that can have an impact.
Selection Criteria
UPG is looking for young, determined people from all different paths of life and regions of the world. From well-experienced professionals to freshly graduated students. The selection process considers four factors:
- Your Profile – this helps us to strive for diversity
- Your Motivation – they select the most motivated
- Your Capabilities and
- The Potential for Impact
Important Notes
1. You will be required to submit a 2-minutes video of yourself self-answering any of their questions. It is advised a make a video of your Bio or any which you can best communicate yourself in 2 minutes by answering any of their questions.
2. You will be asked the name of the organization you heard about the program from. Kindly write myscholarship.ng (MyscholarshipNG). This will grant applicants from this platform added advantage. As such, it’s advised your share this with friends and media so as to increase the chances of applicants from this platform.
