Full Scholarship Benefits and Duration

The successful candidates of the John Monash Scholarships will receive a stipend of up to AU$ 75,000 each year of study (up to a maximum of 3 years).

Other Study Institutions: The following world-class universities offer partial or full fee waivers to John Monash Scholars, for certain degree types: King’s College London (UK), Cranfield University (UK), IE University Madrid (Spain), and The University of Groningen (The Netherlands)



Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the John Monash University of Melbourne scholarship, applicants should/must:

  • Be Australian citizens
  • Have completed or are about to complete Bachelor’s degree program
  • must be able to demonstrate outstanding intellect with excellent academic merit.
  • Having an honors degree with a classification of 1 or 2A or equivalent is considered for selection.
  • Having excellence in other areas such as music, language skills, and publications is preferred.
  • Have leadership skills within or outside the field of study.
  • Have good proficiency in the English language

Ashesi-ETH Scholarship: The application is open for the 2023 Ashesi-ETH Master’s scholarship in Mechatronics Engineering to study at the Ashesi University by faculty from Ashesi and ETH Zurich. This scholarship opportunity comes with a full-time job offer upon completion of the program.


Ashesi-ETH Master’s in Mechatronics Overview

Mechatronics refers to a group of technologies that enable a wide range of daily life applications, from home automation to “smart” manufacturing, self-driving automobiles, surgical robots, and robotic space exploration. This Master’s Programme, taught at Ashesi University by faculty from Ashesi and ETH Zurich, provides students with specialist competencies and a broad variety of abilities to pursue a career in this exciting field. The program was created and is being carried out as a collaboration between the two universities and our seven industrial partners.

Students will also undergo an onboarding period with their scholarship provider before starting the academic programme. Their mentorship and industrial internship will also take place with the scholarship provider.

Eligibility Requirements

If you have the talent and drive, we want you to apply for an Ashesi education irrespective of your financial circumstances. Below are the criteria to be considered eligible:

  1. Applicants with bachelor’s or master’s degrees (second class or higher) in mechatronics, mechanical, electrical, computer, allied engineering, or other related degrees will be considered for the programme.
  2. Applicants who have received their bachelor’s or master’s degree in the past five years, OR applicants with aforementioned degrees who have also had consistent on-the-job professional development, such as cutting-edge training.



The award will take place:

Ashesi University and ETH Zurich in Switzerland, together with industry partners, are developing a Master’s programme in engineering that will be taught in Ghana by the faculty of both universities. Once all aspects are approved, and the programme is started, graduating students will receive both a Master of Science degree in Engineering from Ashesi and a Master of Advanced Studies degree from ETH Zurich.
